01/12/2002 - 8:42 p.m. Oooops where did my week go?? Ok so I have been playing far too much Civ. Other than that I had a very pleasant lunch with the ex-best friend on Wednesday. One of those very weird conversations we have ranging from the impact of formal grammical training on the learning of second languages, a brief tour through the history of Catholism in New Zealand and ending on a discussion of ahistoric interpretations of event with specific reference to World War 2. Thursday was as noted here spent dealing with a Word document. Friday, my problems with said project got worse in two ways. I got the document from the group I was missing and found that not only had they not included any of the information in the appendices and I hate copy typing, what they had done was nearly useless. I swear to god it would be less work to throw the whole damn thing out and start again!!! Though Friday had its good points namely lunch with my classmate T who is also a mature student. We sat round and crabbed about having to do group work with the 21 and 22 year olds who are at uni for no good reason we can see. Well that is not true, they are there because it is what everyone expects them to do and they think it will mean more money. They are not there for the sheer joy of learning and as such are less motivated about doing the work. They want a pass nothing more. We also talked about a papaer which T did this semester which I am trying to work out if I want to do next year. AS it is a tourism 7000 level papaer and I think I want to do my masters in tourism I probably should!!! Yesterday was just a write off. I stayed up way too late on Friday and my beloved had a 3am call back scheduled so I got woken several times in the night. Today I worked 8am to 6:30pm. It was mostly pretty quiet which was ok. Now I am thinking about maybe trying to sort out the scanning I need to do. I need my beloved to help me figure out how to do it and get the end result I need so I can do the rest of it tomorrow while he is at work. Living the good life Bels
