Sitting here eating mind-bendingly expensive crackers. Discovered just apple chips which I think are an abomination taste absoutely fabulous with a really strong blue cheese. Don't work quite as well with Edam though it is a very buttery Edam.

We are doing our Easter celebration today as i worked from 8am to 6:30pm yesterday.

We had planned to go out to a cafe for lunch then do the grocery shopping but the weather turned foul so we just headed straight to the supermarket. I was going to say something about how we spent nearly $100 and how this is why you should not supermarket hungry. But actually the really expensive stuff apart from the crackers was actually things that were on the list to buy. Like eye fillet steak to be pan fried medium rare and served with smashed potatoes (you par boil them, put them in an oven tray, crush them, coat them lightly with olive oil, sprinkle with a little rock salt and bake, they come out like a cross between roast potatoes and mashed potatoes). I have some char grilled vegetables to serve with a balsamic vinegarette.

Then dessert, chocolate mint ice cream served with a sauce that is melted choclate with cream. Involves messing around with a bain marie but I figure if you are going to do Easter chocolate you might as well go the whole hog with the really good stuff.

After dinner I will end up like the man at the end of "Meaning of Life". That being possibly the grossest scene ever committed to celluiod and definitely not one of the Pythons better efforts! Though I do adore "the Crimson Assurance Company" short feature before the film.

And having worked Friday, Sunday, Monday when everyone else is having a long weekend I now get to have 2 days off. Even better the two days in question the bus drivers are holding stop work meetings. And I seem to be rostered off the day they have given notice of a 24 hour stoppage too.

So I shall away and play computer games till I can't see straight, grin
