20/03/2008 - 5:26 p.m. Sitting on one of the concrete lamp things at the bottom of teh Sky Tower eating my lunch. Leg stretched out along the length to get the injured ankle up. Small sparrow hopping in circles closer and closer to me. The onto my leg. Feeling the weight of its small body as it stood there surveying the world. Its bright eyes considering me as I ate clearly viewing me as no threat as it stood on me. I couldn't believe how tame it was. Nor how solid it felt almost heavyt for its diminutive size. Wishing in some pointless way there was someone to share the experience with. Because, of course, if there had been another person there I wouldn't have been sitting that way or been so quiet. So the bird would not have choosen me as a perch at all. Bels
