ANZAC Day 2008

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

While I'm not a dan service type of girl, I thought the eerie silience of the city as I walked to work was approriate.

Talking to an older American gent about Gallipoli, the mistakes that were made and how it was an odd choice of events for a nation to define itself upon. How the media would react to a similar mistake today - and about how despite modern technology similar mistakes are still made.

Young guy in full dress whites. Didn't pay enough attention to see which service but obviously on his way home from the dawn parade.

The oddness of it being an ordinary day yet so not ordinary.
