Hrmmm well free filter coffee morning was about as much of a clusterfuck as I was expecting. And the damn boss wasn't even shooting down the obvious bogeys.

For example, I got sent on a break at 9:25am when the event started at 10am. An event that was going to send milling hoardes of people demanding free filter coffee through our front door. So I get back at 9:40am to find the brewer isn't being emptied and readied, the milk isn't being set up for the condiment bar. In fact the boss has the one other staff member on doing prep which is making a huge mess all over the back counter.

Fortunately the girl who was scheduled to start at 10 is a smart cookie and was on deck at 9:55am. We just got milk out and the first batch finished in the brewer when the wave hit.

I actually told the boss to get out of my face when he tried to tell me how to ring through the discount. I *know* how to drive the POS system. I *know* how to use a discount button - just push off and go and pour coffees for fucks sake!

And it was basically like that for 2 hours. Every time I'd hit the groove and be shooting down the incomings perfectly someone (the ASM or the boss) woould step in try to "help" and the chaos would get worse.

Just don't mess with the desk! You have an ex help desk staffer on team you stand back and let them take care of the bad guys. Don't mess with their set up and don't block their shot!

Wankers! Up there with the dipshits in IT who did a data push to the POS system requiring a 10 minute log off at 8:15am. Yep like at the tail end of the rush when every idiot who has to be at their desk by 8:30am is trying to get their coffee.

The only upside was we did not get any screaming kids in store today. Coz to be honest I would have thrown them down the stairs and claimed I didn't see them!
