"Now people see the value of civility".Happened to catch an excerpt of the ABC Nightline interview with President Obama. The interviewer was asking if he wasn't too much of a nice guy. After careful consideration and pointing out he was the one getting to go on Airforce One this was the reply. Said with that grin that says nice is not the same as stupid.

The President was also talking about how Congress ans senate were trying to fight the old fights and hadn't seen the world had changed.

Makes a pleasant change to have someone who believes that you don't need to stop being polite in order to get things done. Actually our new PM John Keys has the same polite soft spoken quality. Clearly both raised by women who would have whupped them upside of the head if they failed to mind their manners!

I was watching the telly becuase it is the kind of day where just walking across the room will make you break a sweat. Even with all the windows open and fan going flat out it is still hot and sticky and just unpleasant.

Fuzzy-cat has come in several times to protest. It is just not fur coat weather. I keep telling him he should just be grateful he isn't a Persian!
