After basically 2 months of waiting ACC came back and siad they would not fund my surgery. They said it was degenerative damage and not due to the accident so they won't cover it.

Given I don't have private health insurance and the chances of the spouse being willing to pay the $5 - 10K for it i will have to go through the public system. Which means another 3 - 6 months wait (hopefully the assessment from my surgeon will be enough that I won't have to wait for another assessment). Oh and you take pot luck on who does the surgery - it could be the top guy could be a locum you just get whoever is on that day.

I am really fed up with teh whole thing. Mostly because I was fine the day before the accident but that doesn't seem to count for anything. And not having a definite date does not help in getting a new job.

I have $400 to my name my marriage is fucked and I have no job. I am trying to come up with one good reason not to kill myself.
